Egads!

I've got so many things cooking under the hood. Been busy with classes, orders, preparing for the Eco Film Fest & a few other things (that will be revealed in time... jeng jeng jeng!). I promise the big blog shop update will be done soon so do stay tuned darlings.

Anyways, thought I'd share a few random things you may not know about me nor necessarily interested to know but hey, it's my blog & I get to blog about whatever I want! Muahahaha! Here goes:

+ I love goreng pisang
+ I drink a lot of water but I'm constantly thirsty
+ I absolutely have to read before I sleep. It helps me "switch off"
+ I'm a huge crybaby. PETRONAS commercials are real tearjerkers
+ I secretly wish I was a performance artist in Cirque du Soleil
+ I'm very messy but I know where everything is.... really!
+ I can not function without a can of Coke
+ I wish I could cook like Nigella Lawson
+ I hate being called Girl or Ah Moi
+ I was a huge Weezer fan in high school
+ I don't, won't & can't karoake
+ I wish I was in Disney World Orlando right now

The following has been taken from here as I'm rather busy at the mo (and lazy)! :P

Bijour Bazaar will be showcasing "FASHION WITH HEART" on the weekend of November 1st and 2nd at ASWARA in conjunction with the Eco Film Fest. To further feel the green efforts that the Bijou Bazaar vendors are bringing to the Fest, most of the items on sale are either vintage, eco-friendly or sustainably made. As a commitment to the environment, the vendors will NOT be using plastic bags for all purchases made by the public. Please refer to their website for more information. Genius

I'm currently lusting after this office space design as seem on Martha Stewart (I don't care what you say, I love the woman!). It looks so clean, organized & chic, everything my office space is not. I'd show you what my work space looks like but I'm afraid you'll all come after me with pitchforks & torches! It's that bad.

Hey, I hear geniuses are often messy...

Just The Thing

Just the thing to cheer me up: a new video by Kokokaina! Enjoy...

Lost Phone

I'm a mourning the loss of my mobile phone. It was my lifeline to this blog & so replies to emails will be slow somewhat until I can find a suitable replacement. I do apologize if anyone tried to contact me during the weekend. I just got my new SIM card today but will be more or less internet-less for about a week although it looks I'll be spending more time at the local Starbucks. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Jom!

See you there ;)

The Small Object

I am so obsessing over this blog of the crafty maven behind The Small Object. Her products are so insanely cute & practical! And she seems to have such a fun time making them too.

I'm also in awe of her general craftiness (I don't mean that in a bad way, duh!). She has provided heaps of free tutorials for all sorts of fun handmade projects that I'm just itching to try. I don't know how she finds the time to run her business, be crafty, live a full & eventful life & blog about it all at the same time... Did I mention that I'm in awe?

The Celebration Candle Kid has got to be my most favorite thing at The Small Object.

Someone's Got To Do It

If you've ever tried online shopping before or are a frequent online shopper, you must have felt overwhelmed by the massive amount of e-shops out there at one point or another. I typed in Malaysian blog shop on Google & got hit back with over 400,000 results!

Fret not because there are a few intrepid ladies out there who scour the net to find & review all those blog shops out there. Well, maybe not all 400,000 but you get the picture lah! Go pick up a Star newspaper today & take a look at the Youth section for an article featuring these lovely ladies & their review blogs:

Soh Yien Yee of A Shopaholic's Den
Boo Sha-Lyn of Diary of An E-Shopaholic
Charlotte Khor of Little Accompaniments

Charlotte Khor of Little Accompaniments wearing an Emma on Star today!

Here's the link to the article.

Congratulations ladies & I can't thank you enough for helping blog shops like mine reach a wider audience & for the support you have shown. A special thank you to Charlotte of Little Accompaniments who pointed out the article & check it out, she's wearing an Emma ring during the interview! Awesome!

Raya & Beads

So how was your holiday darlings? Mine was fabulous although I was busy... as usual! Had quite a bit of orders that had me working all throughout my so called "break" & I somehow managed to pick up a new hobby!

Not really sure how it all happened actually... I was in the bookshop a few days before Raya & I picked up a book on Bead Embroidery by Rosita Jaafar because it looked interesting & it's great to support local crafters *ahem* plus I wanted to spruce up my baju Raya with something sparkly. Next thing I know I'm at the millinery store & I've just spent a bomb on seed beads, crystals & spools of thread! Me + colors + craft supplies = not good.

Anyways, I managed to finish beading my baju Raya in time & I'm officially hooked! Bead embroidery is so incredibly simple & rewarding if you have the patience for it & boy, do you have to be really patient! The picture above is just a random one I pulled off the net by the way. I'll post up pictures of my handiwork as soon as I get the camera back from the bf.

Besides my foray into bead embroidery, I also somehow managed to put on about 3 kilos in the span of 1 week. Now, how did that happen I wonder? Hehehe. This satu bulan beraya mentality is soooo going to start showing at places I don't want to be showing! Ah well, at least there's the hope of getting duit raya. Hey, I'm not too old OK! Really.
