New This Week!

Top (l - r): Badriya, Samira & Bebas
Middle (l - r): Liana Lili, Sofia & Musim Bunga
Bottom (l - r): Sangkar Putih, Solaris & Diyana

Sorry for the lack of updates darlings! It's been another crazy week (crazier in fact!) as I've had back to back jewelry classes to teach & orders to send out before Raya next week! I'm just about ready to take a nice long break, stuff myself silly with Raya cookies & just veg out.

Anyhoo, I'll be at Menara Hap Seng again this Saturday along with Feed My Lamb, Mimpi Kita, Soak Republic & some other great local indie arts & crafters. Swing by & get some last minute holiday shopping done!

Take care huns :)

Coooookie!

One of the things I look forward to every year during Raya is the abundance of cookies & biscuits & all of those lovely nibbly crunchies! I'll be making a batch of my trademark Seaweed Crisps for my loved ones but if I have the time next week, I'll definitely swing by Cuppacakes & get me a few containers of the cookies pictured above. The packaging is not only seriously cute but at RM6 - RM10 per container I think it's pretty affordable too. I'll let you know how they taste if & when I get my hands on them.

Fun To Be Had

You can't leave the bazaar without your official Bijou rubber duckies & colorful pinwheels now can you?

Reza Salleh. Awww, ain't he a cutie pie? And he can sing too! *Swoon*

Spot the "kidnapped" rubber ducky. Don't worry, I returned the little guy to his brethren at the end of the day.

As usual, there were loads of colorful fun to be had at Bijou Bazaar. I really don't think I had a dull moment at the bazaar.... There was just too much to see with sooooo many people coming and going & great live bands (except that Filipino band Menara Hap Seng insists should perform... spare me maaaan!). Kudos to Maryam & Iwan the two-woman team behind the bazaar! I don't know how you guys do it all & maintain your sanity.

And now guess what?!? Because of overwhelming response & lots of pleading from the traders, Bijou Bazaar will be ON for a final instalment this Saturday only! And here I thought last weekend was the finale... Anyways, you can count on Mimpi being there! ;)

New This Week!

Top row (l - r) : Samara, Murai & Singgah
Middle row (l - r): Mayang, Liana & Kibaran Sayap
Bottom row (l - r): Sangkar Merah Jambu, Terjun & Soleha

Another week, another update! It's kinda amazing that as I was updating this here blog with the new designs, orders were already coming in & the designs were being snapped up as I was typing!

So be quick & grab the pieces while they're still available as the SALE is still on & has been extended till the end of this month! Woohoo!

P/S: Please note that the organisers of Bijou Bazaar have decided to cancel the last week of the 3 week installment as lots of the traders need to start preparation for Raya (including yours truly!). And so now Mimpi will be taking part all this coming weekend! So mark your calendars folks: 20 & 21 Sept, from 11am - 6pm at The Podium, Menara Hap Seng, Jln P. Ramlee, KL. More info here.

Bijou Bazaar @ Menara Hap Seng

I turned up bright & early at Bijou's latest venue. In fact, I think I was one of the first to set up at the ground floor level of Menara Hap Seng which was designated just for Arts & Music (Clothes were set up upstairs)! Anyways, this gave me the opportunity to take my own sweet time setting up my table which was located right smack in front of the main entrance, under some bamboo plants to the side of Starbucks.

New table cloth (I'm so in love with Japanese Cotton)! Oh hey, that's me in the mirror... Hi ya!

This side of the table...

That side of the table.

Bijou Bazaar is synonomous with rubber duckies did you know that? I think a few were er, kidnapped.

Shopping & coffee... well, tea for me lah but it's all good baby!

These guys were fantastic but didn't manage to catch their name. I'm going to get their CD if I can at the next Bijou Bazaar this weekend.

I was surprised to find that I was kept pretty busy throughout the bazaar as the crowd slowly but surely trickled in. So much so that I didn't even have time to check out the clothes upstairs until it was time to pack up! Oh well, at least I have this weekend to do some serious damage to my purse...

Hope to see you there this weekend ;)

Gnome & Mushroom Salad

This has got to be the cutest salad EVER. It's almost too pretty to eat but then I love a good salad... Well, I did say almost!

See You There!

The current Mimpi sale* also applies at Bijou Bazaar in case you're wondering. And heck, because you're such darlings, I'll EXTEND the sale period till the end of this month while I'm feeling all lovey-dovey! *Please note that the free pair of earrings per customer is limited while stocks last.

Click here for more details & click here for a map to Bijou Bazaar.
Be there or be square!

Papercuttings

I love crafts. I love paper. I love the craft of cutting paper into delicate shapes & designs. Hence the love of papercuttings & cut out art.

Check out Essimar's adorable Otto Conejo above cut from vintage 1970's wallpaper. A modern take on papercuttings but still delicate & lovely. I'm thinking of getting it to add to my collection of Chinese papercuttings & animal art (which is a whole other blog post... maybe one day I'll tell you about it).

I'm definitely going to be taking part this weekend (not sure about the other weekends yet) so please excuse the lack of updates here in this blog as I attend to your orders & make enough jewelry to fill my table... Packaging

Here's a peek at my packaging for online orders.

Top row
(
Left) Each piece of jewelry or accessory is slotted into my custom made jewelry/business card & then packed into little cellophane bags so that the piece doesn't oxidize or comes into contact with water from rain during delivery.
(
Right) My little way of saying thank you: a free pair of pewter or brass charm earrings with every purchase from 23 August to 23 September! Read more about the promo here.

Bottom row
(
Left) The order + free earrings are wrapped in layers of fine tissue wrapping paper & topped of with ribbons. I then wrap it again with pink bubble wrap (Not pictured here as it's not very pretty! Hehehe). That silver box you see is for rings & other fragile jewelry & accessories.
(
Right) Everything is then mailed to you in a bubble envelope that I've dressed up with more wrapping paper!

It's not very eco-friendly I admit but it works in keeping the jewelry safe during delivery. Perhaps someday I'll find a way to use only biodegradable products to pack my jewelry...

::EDIT::
Please note that if you choose to have your order sent to you via Registered Mail, the bubble envelope will be PLAIN as the post office has restrictions concerning this mode of postage.
